The Drill Hall, located in the London borough of Farringdon, has a rich history dating back to 1888. Originally serving as the headquarters for the London Rifle Corporation during World War I, this iconic 19th-century building has undergone a remarkable transformation. A retrofit project led by E2 Architecture + Interiors has turned the Drill Hall into a modern office space that embraces sustainability and architectural preservation.
One of the key components of the retrofit was the replacement of the leaking roof. The original two-tier structure of slate and glass, damaged by zeppelin bombs during the war, was in need of a sustainable refurbishment.
